Education is much more than just sitting in a classroom reading about places that you never expect to go.
Some kids come from homes where people provide them with all the experiences that they need in order
for them to feel like the world is within their reach. While some kids may have the talent and the potential
to conquer the world, they are sometimes stifled by the harshness of their realities and the innumerable
challenges they face.

Urban Entrepreneur believe that our youth can better meet those challenges by using the principles of
personal development enhancing shills like goal setting, goal achievement, dream building, self-motivation,
self-efficacy and time management all contributing to creating a high self-esteem and sense of purpose.
Success University was founded to provide urban teenagers with quality education in the areas of personal
development, financial literacy and entrepreneurship through practical application as opposed to theoretic
lecture. Our goal is to meet the students where they are, connect with them on a personal level and assist
them in their journey from the youth of today to the achievers and leaders of tomorrow.

Everyone agrees that fundamental to student engagement and understanding the importance of completing
high school is the students’ belief in themselves. Frankly put, students need the simple, empowering life
skill principles that help them to discover their own value, purpose and direction. Even though character
education and life skills are known and agreed to be essential to the growth and maturity of our youth,
there is little within most current curricula to support the teaching of life skills principles that help build
strong character and values. Budget constraints and human resource availability, competence and skill
often impose limits on what a school district, system or program can provide to meet and overcome one
of the greatest challenges our nation  has ever faces….alarming high school drop out rates!

Our objective is not to compete with existing programs but to complement & enhance existing programs.
One of the ways we do this by providing the inspirational life skills, character- building message of The
SUCCESS Brand via the Success University to youth in middle and high schools delivered by individuals
the students can relate and identify with. With the focus on the kids’ empowerment and sense of personal
responsibility along with the added benefit of igniting the program partners Success University  has
developed a way to combat boredom, as well as most of the self- deprecating attitudes and behaviors our
youth are developing and therefore make a substantial dent in the alarming high school dropout rate!

Our
“I AM GREAT PROGRAM” was specifically designed to create and encourage positive
communication and dialog between the students, their teachers (program partners) and their families
providing a unique and valuable experience. Experiences shape people. If the only experience we give our
children is that of their neighborhoods, then their frame of reference will be limited. With small dreams
come small realities.

“The Urban Teenpreneur Program” was designed to provide graduates of the
“I AM Great Program” with true entrepreneurial training and mentorship by entrepreneurs who have
overcome similar issues to the youth but have still achieved entrepreneurial success as a result utilizing a
stable plan and steadfastly believing in themselves against all odds. These Entrepreneurs provide real
life examples of the fact that the students success is possible in spite of the situations and circumstances
that currently contribute to the sense of hopelessness they experience. The program is a quarter long
with each participant creating a complete business plan. There will be a Teen Entrepreneurship Expo
where the participants will compete for  $500 business grants to be used for the start-up of their
business and IPads. The grants & Ipads are provided by the Urban Entrepreneur & Corporate Sponsors.

The
"Coffee for A Cause Entrepreneurial Program” teaches teenagers 10-18 years old how to
identify profit making opportunities and then how to initiate an enterprise that introduces teenagers to
the world of business and entrepreneurship by teaching them how to develop and operate their own
legitimate small business. Coffee with a Cause’s mission is to address the financial needs of the youth in a
way that teaches them to capitalize on the human capital often overlooked by traditional firms and
government agencies. At the core of this endeavor was the idea that youth, given the proper training and
opportunity, could be contributors to economic development across the nation.

If there is any way you can assist us in striving to expand our programs and experience to more of our
youth then please contact KJ Anderson at 404-590-7553 or email Urbankid@kj3rd.com
